Storm'z Intermission-30_edited.jpg

Brooklyn, New York native and New Jersey based visual artist, Storm Cuff has claimed her artistry through the world behind and in front of the lens. Capturing portraiture through a black woman's perspective, Storm's photography shows vivid expressions of blackness through themes of love, style, and culture. In doing so, she strives to tell stories that are not conventionally told about in media spaces.

FEATURED PORTRAITS

By applying the visual vocabulary and arrangements of style, history, love and euphoria to the raw material drawn from the urban fabric, the muses and stylistic references for her photographs are interrupting tropes of images often portrayed as the "default" representation of black people. The collections of portraits challenge these views and encourage tales that are not otherwise told while paying precise attention to detail in the culture when capturing this point of view.
